What is this? It is a continuity shot. We take them so we can put props back in their starting position before the actors start moving them about. Used to use polaroids, now we have cell phones.

From the aet of Warsaw Ghetto Memories. We were getting ready to shoot a scene with some harassment. Fun fun. The actor is putting scars on himself.

5:20 am. I would normally have just gone to bed. Not today. On the metro so I can make the Marc train to DC. I have a shoot today at the National Holocaust Museum. No sleep til…well not Brooklyn…more like until I get back to Baltimore.
-
Second half of today’s shoot was spent at the Baltimore Holocaust Memorial.
This is the director Alex checking the shot.
-
Today’s inside shoot done for ‘Warsaw Ghetto Memories’. We filmed pick up shots as well as the narrator reading this poem.
Now off to the outside portion.

My view while shooting. Filming for an indie film named “Warsaw Ghetto Memories”. We’re shooting the narration (provided by Bernard Bragg).
There’s this interesting thing that happens when you work behind the camera a lot. Actions happen only feet in front of you, but you’re so focused on the little view screen that it’s almost like you’re not there. You feel like you’re watching TV, or the computer screen while editing. Anything other than standing in the same room.
Still, I wouldn’t wish for any other job.
